MS SQL Database Engineer  

Easy Dynamics is looking for an experienced MS SQL Database Engineer.  The candidate will work with business clients, software development teams, and subject matter experts to design and implement database solutions to support an Enterprise-level full-stack implementation. A successful candidate will be able to convey complex technical issues using concise, easy-to-understand terminology. The engineer will be part of an Agile Scrum team and may be called upon to provide after-hours support on areas that fall in the candidate's field of expertise.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Install and maintain the performance of database servers  

  • Develop processes for optimizing database security  

  • Set and maintain database standards  

  • Manage database access  

  • Performance tuning of database systems  

  • Install, upgrade, and manage database application  

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors  

  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies  

  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards  

  • Create automation for repeating database tasks  

  • Design and build normalized and denormalized database solutions using retail industry best practices for data   

  • Warehousing for specific client requirements. This will involve Microsoft SQL Server Database programming (stored procedures and database design)  

  • Assist in designing and executing ETL routines using SSI  

  • Implement complex business logic requirements  

  • Data analysis to verify solutions are correct  

  • Database partitioning, archiving, and purging  

  • Implement new technology, plug-ins, and APIs  

  • Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies  

  • Configure and tune the High Availability (HA) features of MS SQL Server Enterprise edition in a clustered environment with Disaster prevention and Recovery Strategies and supported High availability features like Snapshot Replication, Clustering (Active/Passive) and Database Mirroring  

Qualifications:  

  • U.S. Citizen  

  • Active U.S. Government Public Trust clearance   

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field  

  • 5+ years of experience deploying, securing, maintaining, and troubleshooting highly available MS SQL server solutions  

  • 3+ years of experience with reporting Services (SSRS) and integration services (SSIS)  

  • Strong proficiency with core Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word)  

  • 3+ years of experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and using Git for version control  

  • 3+ years of experience with operating in Windows Server environments, including scripting in PowerShell  

  • Preferred experience with other database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)  

Preferred:  

  • Advanced Microsoft Database Certification 

  • Preferred experience of operating in Linux environments, including bash scripting  

  • Preferred experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure)  

  • Microsoft PowerShell and SharePoint experience  

  • Experience with High availability, fail overs, backups, scaling and clustering operational systems 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
