  • Lead the technical team to define technical specifications and system design; develop technical and data architecture for securing and delivering information systems  
  • Provide leadership on reviewing, developing, and enhancing Cloud-based technical architectures and implementation thereof 
  • Under minimal direction, collaborate with end-users to define, analyze and review business requirements  
  • Draft technical documentation, including designs, diagrams, roadmaps and presentations
  • Lead and collaborate with a team of diverse technical skillsets to produce and support high-quality technical deliverables, including but not limited to Developers, DevOps engineers, SREs, DBAs, analysts and information security personnel
  • Support migration of workloads from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure
  • Design and implement optimized Azure architectures in both hybrid and cloud-only environments
  • Partner with internal and external program stakeholders to translate business goals to technical Cloud architecture and solutions  
  • Lead technical development and deployment activities  
  • Facilitate design reviews, code walkthroughs and other quality management activities 
  • Prepare and manage project plans and milestones, in close collaboration with program management 
  • Estimate level of effort and resource utilization  
  • Anticipate and resolve issues and risks  
  • Contributes to the development and continuous review of appropriate practices, standards and guidelines 
  • Independently develops roadmaps and establishes overarching product vision 
  • Present roadmaps and architectural design artifacts to program leadership to get buy-in and approval 
Qualifications:
  • 10 years’ experience as a Cloud Architect 
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related field   
  • Experience leading programmatic efforts on Cloud solution architecture, requirements management, and product ownership. Experience with cloud-enabled transformation programs, preferably within federal government 
  • Expertise with designing and implementing modern cloud application architectures
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with the Microsoft Cloud stack (including but not limited to Azure (Commercial and Government), Office 365, Entra ID, Defender)
  • Experience with DevSecOps methodology, CI/CD pipeline architecture, modern configuration management approaches, infrastructure as code, and compliance as code
  • Experience with correlating and implementing NIST SP 800 series, particularly NIST 800-53, 800-63
  • Hands-on experience with implementing cloud security baselines, documenting security controls, and achieve Authority to Operate (ATO) for cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with modern compliance (automation) approaches 
  • Experience communicating complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience planning, executing and supporting large-scale cloud migration efforts into Microsoft Azure
  • Experience leading diverse technical teams in cloud migration and / or management
  • Familiarity with common automation tools in Microsoft Azure, such as Terraform, ARM Templates and PowerShell preferred
  • Federal experience required 
  • US Citizenship required  
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance (Public Trust) 

Salary Range: $150K - $175K
